Education Technology (EdTech) is set to be one of the key crucial sectors for tech development in Africa over the coming years, Mercy George-Igbafe, founder and CEO of LEARNTOR said this in a recent interview with the Editor CHIKODI OKEREOCHA of the Nations Newspaper.

The EdTech has the potential to improve access to education and address critical challenges confronted by women and youth in Africa, such as limited access to books, computers, tech literacy and other resources to advance innovation and creativity.

Mercy George-Igbafe’s company has trained 2,380 Nigerians, 75% of whom are women, and Mercy is focused on developing 10,000 tech talent by 2025 for women and youth with zero technological skills. LEARNTOR offers courses such as Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Data Analytics, Project Management Office and Cyber Security.
